Class Descriptions

Sunrise Slow Flow

Our Slow Flow classes are light and creative, but slower paced and gentler than our Vinyasa classes. Postures are generally held for longer periods, and the transitions between poses are a little slower. This class works for beginners, but is also wonderful for intermediate and advanced students who feel like slowing it down and sinking deeper into their practice.

Mid-Day Reset

Take a break out of your busy day to hit the ‘reset’ button. Clear out old, stagnant energy and revitalize your spirit as you tune into your inner rhythms. In this Hatha practice, we’ll focus heavily on observation of breath, body and mind as we move through a variety of physical postures. We’ll continue to shift the focus within as the class unfolds and complete the journey with a guided meditation.

1/3 Slow Flow, 1/3 Hatha, 1/3 Restorative

This class gives you a taste of hatha, slow flow and restorative yoga, allowing you time for strength building and a more gentle practice all in one!

Deep Stretch & Serenity (Warm)

This Deep Stretch & Serenity practise incorporates numerous Yoga Asana, Props & Pranayama techniques to facilitate an overall stretch for the body, while providing an opportunity to quiet the mind. In today’s fast paced world, our lives tend to be bombarded with the stresses of day to day life. Our muscles & minds need time to unwind and reset, in order for us to maintain optimum health. This class is excellent for those wanting to slow down & deepen their flexibility + mobility + mindfulness of their yoga practice.

Flowin’ to the 80s

In this fun and spicy flow class, we practice vinyasa flow yoga to the sounds of your favourite tunes from the 80s!

Intensity: Fast paced in a heated room

Hatha

Hatha: is an alignment-oriented practice that emphasizes the forms and actions within yoga postures. Traditional asanas are held in accurate alignment. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility and balance as well as concentration and breath control. This class is based on physical postures (asanas), deep breathing, mindfulness and listening to the body.

Intensity: Moderate

Hips, Hamstrings & Low Back (Hatha & Yin)

This an all levels class and is similar to the Hatha class but with 15-20 mins yin (deep stretching) added to bring us back to earth and relax. Enjoy the best of both worlds by integrating a yin and yang practice!

Intensity: 1/2 moderate pace and 1/2 calming

Flow / Vinyasa Flow

An invigorating practice focusing on strength and stamina. Flow through asanas (postures) in sequence with your breath in a dynamic practise honouring alignment and the building of your own inner heat.

Level: Level 2-3
Intensity: Fast paced, strength required

Pre-Natal Yoga

This program is focused on the physical yoga asanas (postures) to help alleviate common pregnancy discomforts and prepare for the physical aspects of labour and delivery. The class content has been designed to accommodate all trimesters and all experience levels. Childbirth preparation and education topics (optimal fetal positioning, anatomically favourable birthing positions, pelvic floor preparedness and recovery, etc.) will also be covered.​ Classes run 6 weeks at a time, each time with different information to ensure that you can attend more than one cycle 😊

Hip-Opening Hatha

Hatha: is an alignment-oriented practice that emphasizes the forms and actions within yoga postures. Traditional asanas are held in accurate alignment. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility and balance as well as concentration and breath control. This class is based on physical postures (asanas), deep breathing, mindfulness and listening to the body. This class will emphasize yoga postures that will help to increase hip flexibility and mobility.

Yin

This is a deep, meditative and often profound practice that is held in the beautiful calming ambiance of a candlelit room. The Yin style involves surrendering into deep stretching floor poses and exploring them for longer periods of time to let go of tensions stored in the body and to calm the nervous system.
Yin yoga emphasizes gently opening and benefiting deep tissues, ligaments, fascia, joints and bones. It also works with the energetic channels of the meridians, nerves and blood system.

This class is perfect for any time of the day but especially great before bed or on a Friday after a stressful week of sitting at a desk, as a date night for yourself/you & your partner, or on a Sunday night to prep you for the work week.
Most students like to double up by attending a cardiovascular class first such as Hatha or Flow followed by Yin right after as the icing on the cake bringing you into a yin & yang balance.​

Yin & Reiki by Candlelight

Same as the Yin class, but with the added benefits of Reiki energy healing to end your week off in a beautiful candlelit room with this calming combination class of Yin yoga (slow deep stretching) and reiki energetic healing and self reflection. The Reiki practitioner(s) will spend time individually on each person and on the room as a whole. The healing energy of Reiki within the room will intuitively release any stagnant tension and energy and bring in you into a state of total peace and relaxation. This a deep meditative practice that will help create harmony between breath, mind and spirit

Funky Flow

This upbeat and dynamic class is a great way to spice up your Yoga practice! Wonderful for Yogis that want to try new sequences and have a bit more fun on their mat, all while challenging their mind/body/soul. Get ready to move, groove, flow, and maybe even fly!

Sivananda Yoga

Based on the teachings of Swami Sivananda (www.sivananda.org) this class follows a sequence of 12 basic postures. In addition to aiding the flexibility and health of the spine, this set of postures assist in opening energy channels, strengthening bones, as well as stimulating the circulatory and immune systems of the body. This traditional, slow paced, meditative class includes variations for all levels and encourages proper breathing, flexibility, strength and deep relaxation. The practice follows a specific order ensuring that each major part of the body is moved and stimulated in order to increase prana (life force energy). With regular practice and an understanding of what to expect, the mind can easily turn it’s focus to the moment rather than wondering what will come next. The class will leave you feeling incredibly calm and well rested.
